Marak O'Mara makes debut on CNN as Legal Analyst |
Attorney Mark O’Mara is prepared to step into
the spotlight without his famous client, the troublesome George Zimmerman. The Florida criminal defense attorney made
his debut on CNN this week. “New Day”
host Chris Cuomo introduced him as CNN Legal Analyst Mark O’Mara and an expert
attorney on Florida’s Stand Your Ground Laws.
The controversial self defense laws have been under extra media
attention as of late. O’Mara is an
excellent choice to a be media analyst during this time. In addition to his expertise, he is very
comfortable with the media and gave several television interviews during George
Zimmerman’s high profile trial. He was
also a local media analyst in Florida during the Casey Anthony trial.
O’Mara wrote in a
blog post on September 6:
“This morning I appeared on CNN’s New Day program to offer some insights
to a potential “stand your ground” case here in Florida. Many noticed that host
Chris Cuomo introduced me as CNN’s newest legal analyst, and it’s true: as of
today, I’ll be appearing regularly on CNN to offer my insight on a number of
high-profile legal matters.”
O’Mara continued to say that while he has been critical of the press in
the past, he has decided that taking this position will help him be “part of
the solution”. His post goes on to
discuss how it is important to keep a debate going for the issues that make
Americans upset.
As of this week, Mark
O’Mara is no longer representing George Zimmerman
in his recent legal troubles. Police
came to Zimmerman’s home on September 9th to investigate a domestic
dispute involving his estranged wife.
Clearly, the now high profile attorney is looking toward his own future
as a media figure.
